Wedding Gifts in Medan

Is this right?

wedding invitation

I came across this wedding invitation… and couldn’t help but wonder… at the bottom of the invitation showed 3 logos.. first represents Gifts.. second represents Papan Bunga (Flower banner).. while the third said red packet (cash to be exact)..

I can accept the fact that couples prefer not to receive the second option… but declining gifts as well?  …. I find it rather  ‘…?…’ .. can’t think of a word to describe…

My wedding invitations’ printer asked if I’d like them in my cards. My father vehemently declined, because it will be such a shame to him. Well, maybe some couples feel that they are probably not going to use the gifts so they’d prefer cash. Which brings me to the subject of wedding gift registry. It’s such a great idea, but unfortunately I don’t see that happening soon. If more-open minded Singaporeans aren’t even warming up to the gift registry, I don’t think old-fashioned Medanese will like the idea. But as a person trained in economics, I love the efficiency and effectiveness!

with gifts.. often I find that.. it’s not those usual toaster anyway… instead it’s valuable gifts like gold necklaces, gold rings .. jewellery etc

as for gift registry… I agree though… but I bet all Asian .. cash is definitely the preferred choice…..
