The Wholesale Market

This is the true shopping haven…  whether you are buying for resell or just baying as gift..  its such a joy to just walk around.. even though its truly HOT HOT HOT…  The area is called ‘SumPaeng’ .. it is in the Chinatown area.. to get there is a bit complicated as it is in the small alley but tell any cabby, they will know it well..

Bangkok shopping

the area is very big, so you will really need to search and take your time to walk around… try to go on weekdays as it is less crowded and definitely avoid the near Christmas and New Year period… its impossible to walk…

Bangkok shopping

as you go into the small alley, there are in fact more smaller shops as well..

This shop sells the hair clips that you would normally find at Sun Plaza at about 30% of price sold in Medan… however, as it is a wholesale area, normally you will need to buy a minimum of 6 pieces else the retail price is just slightly less than those found in the Mall..  normally they would allow you to mix and match the product of the same range but ask just to make sure…  as for negotiating, unless you are buying in 20 dozens, these shop have the fixed price…

Suvarnabhumi Airport

Bangkok International Airport

Bangkok International Airport can be a bit confusing for some of us, so here’s the guide and easy way out…

After you have clear the immigration and collect your luggage, you will walk out to a Hall, which can be a bit mess during the High season… basically, on your right is where you will go for your local taxi or meet with your friends and family…. but if you are expecting someone from the hotel to pick you up, these guys will be standing on your left with the name signage…

Pick up personel from Hotel or Travel Agent

Bangkok airport taxi

as for local taxi, find the nearest exit door and you will see one of the local taxi counter, tell them where you want to go and they will issue you a ticket to show to the taxi drivers…

should you be going to places that is not within Bangkok, here’s the price board..

Bangkok airport taxi

as you get the taxi ticket, present to one of the local taxi drivers who are waiting in line and will lead you to their car..  taxi fare is paid directly the drivers… there is extra charges for the toll way etc..

however, if you prefer the airport limousine, you can contact the counter directly which of course will cost more too… either way, both are very safe though you will still need to take the standard precaution when you travel…

Massage in Thailand

Health Land

Thai Massage, Aromatherapy, Reflexology foot massage… you name it, they have it..  This is the place that I usually goes to for all the different types of massages..  The place is not the luxury hotel style setting but its Clean and Safe…  not the typical Thai massage parlor that you would see in those Patpong area…  its very family oriented place..  the service is fast and impeccable..  there is no need to make appointment as the place have about 300-500 masseur ready on standby… so I can walk in anytime that I want…

The Lobby is bright and airy

health

as for the price:

Thai Massage: bht 350 / 2 hours ( vouchers bht 2500 for 10 treatments)

Aromatherapy: bht 850 / 90 mins ( vouchers bht 6500 for 10 treatments)

Reflexology Foot massage: bht 250 / 1 hours

All masseur are trained certified hence, its safe for those who are health concerned..  as I constantly have back and neck pain, these masseur would usually able to know the spot to help me in relieving the pain which Indonesian masseur are not able to …..

for more details, you may go to their website @ healthlandspa where you will find all their branches around Thailand.. so bookmark it!  They do have a branch in Pattaya too! many times, if you follow the standard tour from Medan, all the recommended places by the tour guide are often not that up to standard as these tour guide received commission, hence, you may want to go on your own or request for the place….

as for me, since I am back to Thailand often and we do a lot of their treatment, I often buy the vouchers since its a lot cheaper..  so if you go in a group, get the vouchers and share the payment, its more value that way…

p.s.  my son accidentally deleted all our Phuket Photos, so, there is none left for me to show … but the week by the beach had been FANTASTIC…!!!
