Life gonna be Greater

The heading of this post speaks for itself…  my 2 days seminar with the author of Rich Dad Poor Dad was something truly unexpected…  it’s supposed to be a 3 days course.. with the first 2 days having the author and his team as the speakers and some other various speakers on the last day …. my hubby and me ended attending only the first 2 days, and spent our 3rd day meeting with bankers to sort of get stuff done straight away…

the seminar, well…. its was really tiring.. from 9am to 7.30 pm straight.. and involving 4000 audiences from around the world…  after just 2 days, let’s just say, it made me and mr hubby realized those things that we have been wondering if its right or wrong…   and that we have since make plans and confidently dare say that we are on the right path to total freedom in life…

with me having paid S$800 each for the tickets, many Indonesians, known for being extravagant, bought seat in the front VIP row, with tickets going like $3000 each…

in fact, I have so so so much to share, to tell, to explain, that I don’t even know how to begin..  my fingers were inching to blog since the end of my first day seminar.. but my brain and body just went blank the moment I got back to the hotel…

Let me just summarized some of the stuff and if I have the chance, I will talk more of it later, else, it’s gonna be a never ending blog reading..

PhD = Poor health and Desperate

HOPE’ is for the Hopeless People

Property producing positive cash flow = ASSET (giving you money)
Property or house that we live in = LIABILITY (taking money out of your pocket)
NOW, ask yourself this…. ‘is your SPOUSE an asset or a liability?’ Hehheheh..

Knowledge is the new Money

Social Security is a Ponzi Scheme

Going to school is stupid…
Thinking a house is an asset is ridiculous…
Working for money is absurd

I so love the quote when i heard it

The Rich SELL
The Poor Buy

SALES = INCOME

Thoughts become words, ….words become actions, ….actions become behavior, …..behavior become value, ……and value become YOU
Therefore, Want to change Life, Change the thoughts

Capital gain = Gambling

MUTUAL Fund = market control the future = Capital Gain = Gambling

‘Go to school, and get good grade so that you can get a good job‘ = EMPLOYEE

4 main types of Transplantation

Heart Transplant Patients = people with negative emotions, i.e constantly having fear, anger, searching for love

Liver Transplant Patients = people with difficulty facing problems which leads to alcohol, drugs addict i.e running away from problems.

Kidney Transplant Patients
= People who don’t grow up, someone who still act like a children, need someone to tell them what to do, or expect people to do things for them.. i.e LACK of responsibility

Bone Marrow / Cancer = people who have experience sense of worthlessness. i.e these people may experience something from childhood like lack of love, being abused, and see the world as not worth living…

Hence, if your character is any of the above, it will most likely lead you to the type of transplant as mentioned…  when the doctor explained and told his stories, its was so funny to listen to..

3 causes of disease – Genetic, Environment and Ourselves.
If you have believed that ‘ourselves’ is the main cause, good on you…

Genetics – you have the prophecy to have the disease but you don’t have to make it happen

Health = being align with your body of how you feel

BRANDING

A great brand is when promise = experience

3 characteristics of Great Branding
1. Genuine
2. Meaningful
3. Different

Excitement = buzz = brand

2 kinds of communication – face to face and back to face

Lastly, only 1% or less of the seminar attendants will walk out and take actions…. so, don’t be the 99%

Quan Spa @ JW Marriott Hotel Medan

What I am about to write will make many of you very envious of me…. heheheh…  BUT, what you are about to read is also a non bias report of how I feel for the place….  however, if you want to read the full formal report, you may read it at MedanKu.com

so, I was given a complimentary experience at the Quan Spa @ JW Marriott Hotel Medan… actually, not just me, its me and hubby and we were treated to enjoy the ‘Embrace Escape’ Spa package as part of the Media …..  pretty cool isn’t it…

Spa, its one area that I sort of know it relatively well enough…  I do try out at the different spas whenever I travel abroad.  But let just say we stick to the Medan standard…  the Embrace Escape, is a package that is tailored for the couple that supposed to let the couple taking the time out to reconnect with each other… for like 2 hrs 45 mins…

we began with Ms Ary, the spa director, giving us the tour of the place… it’s nice, cool, new and very very very and very spotless clean… we were then explained of what we were to be expected which, is full body scrub, then romance bath and followed by massage…

we were given the couple room, which is BIG enough for 4 of us (us + 2 masseurs) to move around and not one of the typical tight space that can be found in other places…  my favourite will have to be the fact that, there are plenty of towels for me to pick, clean, wipe and changed for the whole 3 hours without having to ask for it… I am a weirdo, I like my towel to be DRY each time I pick up a new piece.. and it got to be fluffy and big and in WHITE colour….  and it’s exactly just that at Quan…

quan_coupletreatment

oh, and our masseurs, Ms Candra and Ms Juniash… when we were introduced to them… my hubby and me were whispering to each other.. “oh god, they have given us two very small girls” they are small in frame and with us being big size person and having love our massage to be hard press.. we were a little worried…  but what a surprised… they must have some chinese martial art training or something…

we began with the full body scrub… which was nice and pleasant… I fell asleep obviously, after about 45 mins of having someone to rub off the dead cell on the skin.. you can truly feel being totally cleansed… we were then left alone to immersed in the bath for 30 mins… with nice warm tea placed on the side for us to enjoy… what a heaven..

we then followed on with about 60 mins of massage…  I am not bragging on this… but with me having back problem, and to cure that, a good therapist will need to understand the nodes around the back and sort of like detect the area without the guest having to say, mention or pointed out…  for the past years that I have massages in Indonesia, none and I mean NONE have I experienced one that can do that… most of the time, its rub and stroke and more of the relaxing kind of massage… to cure my back problem, it’s always been the Thai massage only …..  lets just say… with just 60 mins on that massage bed, I felt renewed and recovered…  my usual massage session involved 2 hours with 2 masseurs working together at Eucalyptus Spa and they can’t even compared to this smily Ms Candra….

as for the pricing, Rp 1.850.000++ per couple… ;-) well.. I am imagining many of you are shouting ‘gila‘ this moment… hahahah…  BUT.. for the sack of fairness… do be reminded that

1.  its QUAN Spa

2. its at JW Marriott Hotel

3. its on the 17th floor

4. its service and it’s impeccable … no reason what so ever to complain about

5. it’s way cheaper compared to other part of the world of the same standard

6. it’s for 2 – TWO.. not one…

well, do find all sort of excuses to try it out… its truly a little piece of heaven on earth…

oh! and stay tune for Prime Steakhouse, Health club, Prime Bar and Yum Cha

The 4 Generations of Banners

My grandma-in-law recently passed away… and in Medan, whether its, funeral, grand opening, weddings, congratualtions, of any kind, the local are known to give a banner to show their appreciation for the invitation.  and I was able to see the 4 generations of how it has grown and developed..

medan-banner2

The 1st generation is made of cloth.. mostly being given by the old Chinese generation..

medan-banner1

medan-banner3

The 2nd generation, which are still being widely used, and seen very much around town, is made of artificial flowers and price range from Rp 75.000 onwards… however, due to lack of spaces, it is common to see these banners being overlapped on top of one and the others… which is awful…

medan-banner4

Then as we entered the digital world, the digital printed banners start to appear around 2 years ago….

medan-banner

and the latest of all, is this digital screen… it will be set up within the compund area and cost Rp 99.000…  and to compared among all, I guess this digital screen is the one that can be clearly seen by all especially the host….

The Earth Hour

This year, The Earth Hour has a rather big hype to it… my initially thought was… is Medan gonna participate like the rest of the world… ? I doubt about it… honestly, with our own constant blackout that usually last longer than an hour, I believe Medan do have our own regular Earth Hour on a regular basis….

Maths is Fun

I am a left brain person.. so Maths has always definitely been my major since young… I was always among the top in the class on this mind twisting subject…  I just loved them…  numbers.. numbers…numbers…

so.. with that… the boys are always being grilled by me…. but I always made it the fun way…  and they loved it…. well.. to make it even more fun, I am a member at this Maths site, I practice with them everyday… 15-20 mins a day…  the boys absolutely love them…

ixl Maths is Fun

The Membership cost US$9.95 / month… though this may sound expensive.. but its worth it… why?  coz.. a standard Maths revision book can easily cost half that price in Medan and it’s not even interesting…  at www.ixl.com , the questions are very practical.. meaning, it teaches how Math is being applied into their daily life… so it’s kind of fun for them to play with… and it’s something that the school does not touch on..  a very good supplement from the standard practice done in school… and definitely much better than hauling these books around from overseas….

home exercise Maths is Fun

the books you see above are just half of what I have at home… I try to spend about 40 mins a day with each boy… doing simple exercises with them based on Singapore Syllabus (Maths, Science, English and Mandarin)….  initially, they are quite resisted to it… but after I give each boy a ’star’ book… where they collect the stars for their good work and once completed to a level… they get to choose nice toys with a budget I set for them…  and it works… !!! they love and enjoy every bit of it, and my hubby and me get to really discipline them from a young age….
